Good morning Church.
I want to bless the name of the Lord for perfecting His work in my life and giving me double for my trouble.
In November last year, I shared a testimony regarding my confirmation at my place of work and how after holding on to the declaration of ‘extraordinary results’ from Pastor Sola, I received an excellent report on my assessment.
Shortly after I shared this testimony, my HR reached out to me saying that they hadn’t received a response on the reference form they sent to my previous employer and until my previous employer responded, my confirmation had to be placed on hold.
I immediately reached out to my line manager at my previous job and called his attention to it and he assured me that he’ll follow up with their HR and they’ll respond soon. That was mid November. A process which typically was supposed to take a few days at most started to stretch into weeks and then months and their response was always that they were working on it.
I spoke to a few of my friends about it and they agreed with me in prayer while I continued to hold on to God’s word and confess that my testimony was permanent. At some point, my HR started to get suspicious and wondered if I had done something wrong while I was at my previous job. Because of this delay, I wasn’t permitted to partake in the H2 appraisal that took place in January and that meant I had no chances of getting a promotion for at least 12 months.
Then, sometime in February, my line manager at the previous company reached out to me on his own and assured me that I’ll receive a response that week. To be honest, I doubted it because it wasn’t the first time he was telling me that. However, some days later, my HR received the reference letter as he promised.
Unfortunately, the appraisal process had closed at this time but I chose to thank God and trust that everything was working for my good. Few weeks later, on exactly the day after my birthday, I got an email from HR with the subject ‘Letter of Promotion’.
I was confused at first because I knew I didn’t participate in the last round of appraisal. I opened the email and to the Glory of God, I had been promoted with a significant increase in my salary. When I saw my Head of HR later that day, he congratulated me and asked if I thought I deserved the promotion. I genuinely answered saying ‘I’m not sure’.
He cited that it was against the usual protocol especially since the circumstances surrounding my confirmation of employment gave them concerns, but management chose to make an exception for me.
I want to bless God for perfecting my testimony and for His oil of favour upon my life. Praise God.
