Good morning Church,
In January 2024, while job hunting in the media industry, I admired a particular journalist on TV and followed her online, learning about her Media Production Company. Although she advertised a videographer position, I submitted my CV for a screenwriter role. Surprisingly, she responded quickly, and we began communicating. I had an interview, but despite her positive feedback on my application and interview, the process stalled with constant rescheduling and no job offer. Eventually, she offered me a role, which I declined due to school commitments. Later, citing geographical distance (her being in Abuja and me in Lagos) as a reason, she decided we couldn’t work together.
Feeling heartbroken, I held onto my faith in God. During a church service, I received the comforting word: “though it may tarry but it would surely come to pass.” We stayed in touch, with occasional calls where she’d even forget why she’d reached out. Yet, I believed our meeting was divinely ordained, especially given the peculiar circumstances of how we met.
Then this year, I noticed she was primarily reporting from Lagos. I maintained contact, and at an event, to my utter surprise, she was the first person I encountered. She mentioned her move to Lagos, and I jokingly remarked that God had relocated her for me. She agreed, apologized for the previous year, and encouraged me to stay in touch.
Within a week, I secured a role as a screenwriter with a flexible schedule. The first thought that flooded my mind was the earlier prophetic word: “Though it may tarry, but right now it has surely come to pass!” It struck me as a perfect example of the year’s theme: divine appointments. What else could you call such a sequence of events? A divine appointment indeed!
I’m really grateful to God and I got a leading to share this testimony “We overcame by The Blood of The Lamb and the word of our testimony”
God can be trusted, and indeed “though it may tarry but it will surely come to pass”
Please don’t give up! Hold onto his garment!
